This policy explains what information Data Science Marketing (datascimarketing.com, operated by YSM Digital (Pty) Ltd, Johannesburg, South Africa) collects when you use this website, and what we do with it. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors in the UK and EU, the GDPR.

What we collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, and anything you choose to add (company, website, message). We use this only to reply to you and, if we work together, to run the project.
  • Email, phone and WhatsApp: whatever you send us through those channels, for the same purpose.
  • Analytics (only if you allow it): if you click “Allow analytics”, we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, which set cookies and collect information such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. If you don't allow it, these scripts are not loaded at all.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or rent your information.
  • We don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
  • The free tools on this site (schema generator and UTM builder) run in your browser. What you type into them isn't sent to us. UTM presets are stored in your own browser's local storage.

Cookies and local storage

Without your consent we store only two small preferences in your browser: your light or dark theme choice, and your analytics choice. Analytics cookies are set only after you click “Allow analytics”. You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie choices” in the footer, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.

How long we keep information

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and, if we work together, for the length of the engagement plus any period the law requires for business records.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to how it's used. Email hello@datascimarketing.com. If you're unhappy with our response, you can complain to South Africa's Information Regulator or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office.
